When you're not watching movies you are...

Clearly we're all here bound by our love for film but who are you when you're the farthest thing from your love?

I'm a die hard Chicago Cubs fan, an avid reader of non-fiction, a subscriber to a number of daily/weekly/monthly podcasts, enjoy fishing, cooking, trying foreign cuisines, exercise & dieting regularly, and love a good conversation about a variety of non-film related topics.

Good thread. I'm very passionate about music (a lot of different sorts, but I'm generally known for my love of 70s prog rock and Genesis in particular), a regualr gym goer and kebab eater and am currently writing a novel about a socially phobic young man searching for love. It's a romantic comedy, I suppose.

I used to love travelling the world, but I'm anchored with a mortgage now, so I doubt I'll be going anywhere for a while, but I love New York City with a passion.

Ironically, I've been kicking around ideas in my head over the last year about a screenplay that would tackle that very plot line: man with social anxiety issues seeks love.

Ha! I just read that again and it sounds like a personal ad!

Working and Gym. Those are the two biggest things for me outside of movies . I do love to read as well.

You guys should know one production always falls by the wayside in competitions like this, or at best becomes a TV movie. It's probably best to combine your efforts: Brokeback Shut-Ins has "Oscar bait" written all over it, I'm telling you.

I had that very same thought, too, once I left the reply. Well, I suppose one of us will have to be "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery" and the other "1492: Conquest of Paradise."
