Fake Apple Stores popping up in China

As a proud, dedicated (and therefore presumably insufferable) "Mac guy", I find this news infuriating and hilarious in equal measure (but in no way surprising). Kinda reminds me of the infamous "fake Disneyland":

Fake stores? Seriously, what can't they knockoff? Laughing
In retrospect, she writes, some things felt off in the store. The stairs were poorly constructed and the name tags didn't have actual names on them, just the word "staff." She also notes the walls weren't painted correctly, and the sign in front was wrong:

"Apple never writes 'Apple Store' on it’s signs – it just puts up the glowing, iconic fruit," she wrote.
The original blog post has naturally caught the attention of the mainstream media:

I've read a couple of pieces, including this one ( http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2011/07/21/fake_apple_stores/ ) that contend these bogus shops are possibly "authorized resellers". Yeah, alright . . . Laughing

Apparently the Chinese government is cracking down on the fake stores (for whatever that's worth) as a result of the international press attention, even as more stores are being "discovered" in other countries:
    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/07/china-suspends-2-of-5-fake-apple-stores-in-kunming-city-more-fakes-found-in-other-countries.html

But leave it to Taiwan's gleefully trashy Next Media Animation to produce the definitive documentary on the issue. All hail Darth Jobs! (who appears to be complicit in the whole affair) Laughing

Bugger! Sorry about that. I genuinely didn't see it. It's odd, I thought I'd read everything on here...oops!

Oh, fine, I've called off the attorneys.

    For now.

And to think, they were so looking forward to suing God. Mad
