To celebrate 100 years of Hong Kong celluloid Edmund Lee starts you off with his 100 favorite Hong Kong films that could only be described as Not Your Fanboy's List of 100 Greatest Hong Kong Films before asking a handful of industry folks for their five favorites, an interview with Chow Yun-fat, and even gives a short list of great mainland and Taiwanese backed productions he wishes he could have added. Oh and apparently when he asked for Christopher Doyle's list of five, he was -- in not so many words -- told to piss off.

It could be since the '80s capitalized on the ADHD brand of cinema often associated with movie fanboys but I think there's enough films there -- both in the first half of the list and the last -- that don't exactly fit the usual fanboy m.o. that I'll refrain from using the term [here] as a pejorative (if that was even Shawn's intention in the first place).

I was being jocular nothing more, though the top 10 is pretty much what you would expect.
